Hi lovely people, Jamie here!
Food Revolution Day is finally upon us! I’m incredibly proud to see this brilliant day of global action into its fourth year, and I’m determined to make it bigger and better than ever before.
If you’re new to Food Revolution Day, it’s a brilliant, worldwide event on Friday, May 15. This year, we’re fighting for practical food education for every child across the world. I passionately believe that by teaching our children about food – where it comes from, how if affects our bodies and how to grow, cook and enjoy it – from a young age, we can have a profound effect on their health and happiness later in life.
These days millions of people lack even the most basic skills to cook a simple, healthy meal from scratch, and days like Food Revolution Day are about changing that. They’re about inspiring and encouraging everybody, whatever your age, to get back in the kitchen and celebrate good, fresh, nutritious food.
And that’s exactly what I want you guys to do on Food Revolution Day – get out there, challenge your work mates to a cook-off, get your kids in the kitchen or host a big dinner party with all of your friends and family. Whatever you decide, share and upload your pictures with the #FoodRevolutionDay and #BetterFoodForAll.
I also want to say a big thank you to Sobeys for, yet again, supporting the campaign in a massive way. You guys are doing great things to get both employees and customers involved, as well as donating generously to keep Canadian schools engaged with food education, and I’m incredibly grateful for that.
So get cooking and, most importantly, have fun!
Big love,
Jamie O x
